It’s Time To Wake Up!

It’s time to wake up.

The Truth About Measles and the MMR Vaccine.

From 1959-1962 – just before the vaccine was introduced, measles was fatal in only 0.01% of cases. And while the number of unvaccinated children has quadrupled since 2001, from 2000-2016 measles deaths decreased by 84%. But there are other factors at play when it comes to the dangers of measles.

Malnutrition, especially vitamin A deficiency, is a primary cause of about 90,000 measles deaths annually in underdeveloped nations. In the U.S. and other developed countries, up to 92% of hospitalized measles patients are low in vitamin A. Better nutrition and hygiene may explain the decline in measles mortality even before the vaccine existed.

And the numbers that are used to scare us into submission are not numbers that you can trust. About 90% of measles cases are benign and go unreported, meaning that reported cases of measles only constitute about 10% of all cases. Using reported cases to calculate mortality rates result in numbers that are artificially inflated by a factor of 10.

Jens Spahn, Merck, and the CDC would have you believe that we are in the midst of an epidemic crisis. After all, there have been over 450 confirmed cases of measles in the U.S. this year alone. They’d have you believe that your freedom to choose what goes into your body – and even your constitutional right to religious freedom – must be forfeited in order to save the children. How many must die?

Don’t Be a Bystander in the War on Truth: Make Your Voice Heard

Since the turn of the millennium, there have been 11 deaths from measles in the U.S.

To put that in perspective, here are some unique death rates in the U.S. from 1999-2014:

  • Death from contact with powered lawnmower: 951
  • Death from a fall involving ice-skates, skis, roller-skates or skateboards: 1,139
  • Death from a fall from tree: 1,413
  • Death from a fall involving bed: 10,386

You are 1,038.6 times more likely to die falling out of bed than from measles.

Cervical Adjustments Lower Blood Pressure

A pilot study by the University of Chicago has documented that chiropractic adjustments of the misaligned Atlas vertebra significantly reduces blood pressure in people with hypertension. The study was published in the March 2, 2007 issue of the online Journal of Human Hypertension.

According to the lead author George Bakris, MD, director of the hypertension center, anecdotal reports have linked blood pressure and neck pain for years. After being approached by a family practitioner, he and his team, with the help of lead chiropractic doctor, Marshall Dikholtz, DC, decided to put this theory to test.

The study included 50 hypertensive patients. Half the patients received specific Atlas adjustment and the other half received a “sham intervention” designed to be indistinguishable to the patients from an authentic adjustment. Patients were assessed immediately after, as well as at the end of the eight weeks of treatment.

Patients who received the chiropractic adjustment saw an average of 14mm Hg greater drop in systolic blood pressure and an average of 8mm Hg greater drop in diastolic blood pressure than patients who were in the sham group not getting the adjustments. None of the patients took blood pressure medications during the eight-week study.

Commenting on the study results, Dr. Bakris states, “We were shocked to find out that we got more than double what we expected in blood pressure reduction. Patients who received chiropractic adjustments did not need to resume taking blood pressure medicine as the effect lasted for months.”

“These findings are significant as they further demonstrate the benefits of chiropractic care which go beyond back pain, neck pain and headaches.”

DISSCUSSION

“The findings of this pilot study represent the first demonstration of a sustained blood pressure lowering effect associated with a procedure to correct the alignment of the Atlas vertebra. The improvement in blood pressure following the correction of the Atlas misalignment is similar to that seen by giving two different anti-hypertensive agents simultaneously.”

“This reduction in blood pressure persisted at 8 weeks and was not associated with pain or pain relief or any other symptom that could be associated with a rise in blood pressure.”

Data linking changes in Atlas anatomy and posterior fossa circulatory changes associated with hypertension date back more than 40 years.

“What is clear is that misalignment of the Atlas vertebra can be determined by assessment of the alignment of the pelvic crests. This should be considered in those who have a history of hypertension and require multiple medications to control their blood pressure. Additionally, it should be considered in those with refractory hypertension and a history of neck injuries, independent of the presence of pain. Note that pain was not present in any of the patients randomized in this study.”

The Many Evils of Soda

Hands down one of the worst “food” items you can put in your body is soda, aka pop. And not just regular cola, we’re talking diet, root beer, and the rest. The scary part is how many ways it can mess with your body The sugar alone in non-diet sodas has been linked to obesity, diabetes and tooth decay. One can of regular soda has approximately 10 teaspoons of sugar. Try putting 10 teaspoons of sugar in your hand and eating it all at once.

Many people try and avoid these problems by switching to diet sodas, but unfortunately there are other ingredients that cause just as serious health problems. The phosphoric acid that is in both regular and diet sodas interferes with your bodies balance and storage of calcium leading to weaker bones. There have been many studies that prove drinking soda on a regular basis leads to more frequent bone fractures in both teenagers and adults. How does it do this? Well, all soda is extremely acidic (coke has a pH of 2.5, battery acid has a pH of 1.0, our bodies normally have a pH of 7.4), and therefore is harmful to our bodies. To neutralize the acidity of soda, our body turns calcium into an alkaline compound. Where do we store nearly all of our calcium?… yup, our bones. So drinking soda regularly forces the body to take calcium out of the bones and use it up to neutralize the acidity.

Going back to pH for a moment, studies have shown that our bodies need to be in an alkaline state (between 7 and 14 on the pH scale) to function properly and to be healthy. When we are in an acidic state (between 0 and 7 on the pH scale) our bodies are significantly more susceptible to many diseases like cancer, heart disease, osteoporosis, arthritis, kidney disease and gallstones. In fact, cancer cannot live in an alkaline environment. Lab tests on terminal cancer patients show their pH level to be around 4.5, much lower than the ideal 7.4.

Drinking an occasional can of soda may not cause you to break your leg or get cancer, but on the other hand, wouldn’t it be better to make those little changes in our lives that help our bodies stay healthy, balanced and functioning in the most optimal way possible? Switching to another beverage, like water, may not give you that 15 minute caffeine and sugar rush, but you’ll end up feeling better in the long run.

Researchers Create Monkeys with Glowing Hands!

Will this cure inherited diseases like Parkinson’s, Multiple Sclerosis and more? The question is a difficult one. Maybe the most difficult question of all. There may many differing opinions and opposing viewpoints-However, who has the right answer?

What is the question? Allow me to explain. Steve Connor, a science editor for The Independent, recently penned an article about how scientists have developed a technique to genetically modify monkeys so that future monkeys would retain the same genetic modification.

The premise being, if they can cure certain genetic diseases in monkeys, then scientists will be able to use similar treatments to cure the same diseases in humans.

If this is possible, the scientists mentioned in the article believed they might be able to cure inherited (genetic) diseases such as Parkinson’s, Huntington’s Disease, Cystic Fibrosis, Multiple Sclerosis and more.

In a study published in the journal Nature, a team of scientists led by Erika Sasaki of the Central Institute of Experimental Animals in Kawasaki used Marmoset monkeys to perform their tests, mainly because humans and other primates are genetically similar.

The researchers introduced a jellyfish gene into the monkey’s embryos. Why a jellyfish gene?

The purpose of the experiment was not to “cure” anything it was simply to see if they could pass on the new genes to the monkey’s offspring. In other words, they want to see if they could change the genetic code for not only monkeys but for all of that monkey’s descendents. The jellyfish gene was used because it makes the… Monkey’s Hands Glow Green Under Fluorescent Light!

This made it easy for the scientists to know if they succeeded since all they had to do was shine a fluorescent on the monkey’s hands.

Previously, scientists performed similar work and created a “transgenic” monkey with jellyfish genes in 2001. The monkey’s name was Andi. They encountered a problem: even though Andi’s hands glowed green under fluorescent light, her offspring’s hands did not.

This meant that any genetic diseases the scientists were trying to alter with this technique would not be changed for future generations.

However, this experiment proved different. Not only did the monkey’s hand glow … so did its offspring’. The genetic trait scientists had inserted into one monkey was passed to future generations.

Why is this so important? It is important to the scientists because they can encode monkeys with human genes that cause diseases (such as Parkinson’s) that can be used for testing in hopes of finding a cure for humans with the same diseases.

On one hand, isn’t modern science amazing? Who would have thought 25 years ago that scientists would be creating genetically altered monkeys with the hopes of curing “incurable” diseases?

On the other hand, Is the big question: What are the repercussions of all this? Is it ethical or cruel to create colonies of genetically altered monkeys with terrible diseases strictly for testing experimental treatments? What are the long-term effects of permanently genes that are passed down from generation to generation? Could the “cure” end up worse than the disease? This type of genetic tampering could easily, positively or negatively, affect the entire race.

At this point, these are the questions no one has answers. It is very clear from the comments left on the internet after Steve Connor wrote the article that there are strong opinions on both sides of this issue. One hopes we as a species choose the right path.

Why your leg is on fire!

Sciatica is the inflammation of the largest and longest nerves in the body. The sciatic nerves are created by the gathering of nerves that extend from the spinal cord and run down through the pelvic bones, like individual streams that come together to form two mighty rivers. These mighty rivers of nerves run down each leg and branch out to feed information to run every function of the legs and feet. Sciatica is like having the feeder streams, mighty rivers and their branches set on fire.

Other symptoms associated with sciatica are thigh pain in the front, side or back, pins and needles, numbness, tenderness and crawling sensations anywhere about the lower extremity. Sciatica is brutal. Its suffers cannot sleep, have trouble walking, sitting, bending or standing. All sorts of activities from the waist down become difficult or impossible.

Sciatica unfortunately, is among those long burning illnesses that historically, have been mysteries to the medical community. Sciatica suffers have been frustrated in the past because any treatment tried has not helped or has only helped temporarily, often with unwanted side effects. According to Barry R. Cassileth, Ph.D., author and adjunct professor of medicine at the University of North Carolina, “Inadequate pain control often moves patients to seek more effective and less toxic alternatives Patients want gentle, effective, natural approaches to chronic illness.” This is where safe and conservative chiropractic care comes into the picture.

Chiropractic focuses on the function of the body, as it is coordinated and controlled by the nervous system. The health and ability of the nervous system to work is directly affected by the structural health of the spine. The way the spine lines up is critical because its 24 bones house the spinal cord which sends signals to the entire body. Any misalignment or malfunction of the spinal bones that protect the spinal cord can definitely create interferences to the signals sent to the organs, muscles and other tissues.

With sciatica, the misalignment of the spinal bones results in interference and irritation to the large sciatic nerves. This irritation can continue and get worse without spinal correction: Hyperactive nerve firing, malfunction, muscle spasm, pain and even disability may result.

Doctors of Chiropractic have been treating the probable cause of sciatica for years. Recent and ongoing research has been very promising.  The emphasis is on making sure the support structure of the body and spinal bones are in their correct position. This allows full function of the nerves. By using gentle pressure to realign the spinal bones, damaging interferences are removed and the body is allowed to heal itself.

The fire on the river is controlled. Chiropractic may well be the answer to your sciatic pain.

Heavy Metals Toxicity

Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis ( ALS) is serious motor neuron diseases which falls in the same category as Parkinson’s disease, multiple sclerosis, etc.

Exposure to some of the most common occupational chemicals has been shown to be associated with a 90% higher risk of developing ALS.

There’s plenty of evidence in leading government journals that folks with ALS have more heavy metal exposures (i.e. lead).

In addition, people with Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis (ALS) have more hydrocarbon exposures like jet fuel, as well as paint strippers, cutting, cooling and lubricating oils, stock-piled anti-freeze, de-icers or coolants like propylene glycol and even dry cleaning agents, auto exhaust, and chlorinated hydrocarbons like pesticides.

This simply means that exposure to some of the most common occupational chemicals has been shown to be associated with a 90% higher risk!

It is well documented that these toxins damage the nerve making them too toxic and poisoned by unavoidable environmental pollutants.

If you or a loved one is diagnosed with Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis ( ALS), you want to immediately begin with an Urinary Heavy Metals Test then proceed with Heavy Metal Detoxification using a far infrared sauna and detox protocols and supplements.

The Many Benefits of Mushrooms

Having secured a rich history in many ancient Asian healing practices, medicinal mushrooms have been prescribed and used for countless ailments for thousands of years.  As modern medicine rediscovers these ancient superfoods, there is good evidence that mushrooms are among the most powerful functional food in a growing cancer-fighting and cancer-prevention arsenal.

Modern research confirms what many traditional healers have know for centuries-that mushrooms contain some of the most potent, yet safest medicinal ingredients found in nature.  Most of these ingredients cause very few side effects-if at all, even at very high doses.

It is important to differentiate between the anti-cancer medicinal mushrooms and the countless other common varieties. The ones we are speaking of are:

  1. Reishi
  2. Maitake
  3. Agaricus Blazie Murill
  4. Turkey tail
  5. Cordyceps

It’s clear now that mushrooms are legitimate treatments in their own right for many health conditions including diabetes, Alzheimer’s disease and many forms of cancer.

How to remove 87% of toxins from our air at home

When it comes to air quality in your home I recommend a good HEPA filter like the Austin brand (www.austinair.com).  However, there is another good alternative that many people are not aware of…

This includes filling your home with house plants. NASA has found that some species of houseplants can eliminate up to 87% of the toxins from the air in your home. This includes:

  1. Formaldehyde
  2. Benzene
  3. Toulene
  4. Trichloroethylene
  5. Carbon monoxide
  6. Dust

The best plants that are the most effective include English Ivy, Spider Plants, and the Boston Fern.

One or two plants are better than nothing, however, it is recommended you have many plants throughout your home to gain maximum benefits.

Anti-Inflammatory Recipe

Lemon Sage Artichoke Galette

gallete

Prep Time: 30 minutes

Author: Charlene Bollinger

Yield: 8 slices

The galette is an open-faced pie that originates in France. This delightful entree features a gluten-free, dairy-free, buckwheat flax base filled with tasty veggies famed for their anti-cancer benefits.

Artichokes have recently been noticed for their liver and kidney detoxifying attributes and anti-cancer phytonutrients of quercetin, rutin, and cynarin. These are concentrated antioxidants that help shrink tumors and prevent them from spreading.

Combined with the remaining super spices and ingredients this dish is sure to become a favorite anti-cancer meal option.

Ingredients

Filling Ingredients:

  • 8 artichoke hearts, quartered
  • 3 baby turnips, quartered
  • 1 cup fresh spinach leaves, washed and coarsely chopped
  • 1 tablespoon sun dried tomatoes, finely chopped
  • 1 teaspoon coconut oil
  • ¾ cup red onion, julienned
  • 1 clove garlic, crushed and chopped
  • 2-3 tablespoons pine nuts (optional)

Spices:

  • 6 fresh sage leaves, coarsely chopped
  • 1 teaspoon fresh thyme leaves
  • 3 tablespoons fresh lemon juice
  • Splash of Balsamic vinegar
  • ¼ cup spring OR filtered water
  • ½ teaspoon freshly ground black pepper
  • ¼ teaspoon pink OR sea salt, to taste

Crust Ingredients:

  • 1 ¼ cup buckwheat flour (or grind your own from untoasted buckwheat kernels)
  • ¼ cup ground flaxseed (or grind your own from organic flax seeds)
  • ½ cup cold pressed coconut oil, semi-hard
  • ½ teaspoon fine pink OR sea salt
  • ¼ cup very cold water, added gradually

Instructions

Filling Instructions:

  1. If using frozen artichoke hearts, take out eight artichoke hearts and set aside in a bowl to defrost.
  2. In a separate bowl add all the remaining ingredients except pine nuts, spinach, salt and pepper.
  3. Stir in the artichoke hearts when semi-defrosted.
  4. Heat a saucepan on the stove until the teaspoon of coconut oil melts. Then place all the ingredients in the pan, except the pine nuts and spinach, over medium low heat stirring occasionally until the artichokes are tender (approximately 10-15 minutes).
  5. Allow to cool then adjust the seasoning by adding salt and pepper to taste.

Crust Directions:

  1. In a bowl add the buckwheat, flax flour, and salt mixing it with a fork for even distribution.
  2. Add the coconut oil and blend with a pastry cutter or large fork. When it looks like pea sized crumbs, add water slowly and knead with hands gently a few strokes until it holds together like cookie dough. Note: this process can be accomplished very quickly in a food processor with the plastic blade or regular blade on pulse for 30 seconds until the dough forms.
  3. Then place dough on a lightly floured surface and roll out with a rolling pin. Place in a lightly oiled 9-inch pie or tart dish allowing the excess to hang over the sides. Add the spinach and pine nuts to the filling and place the filling inside the dish, folding the dough slightly over the first two inches of filling.
  4. Bake at 350 degrees Fahrenheit for 20 minutes or until the crust is light brown.
  5. Allow to cool for five minutes. Then slice into eight pieces and serve with additional pine nuts and drizzled extra virgin olive oil. Enjoy!

This recipe will help reduce inflammation and angiogenesis, promote apoptosis, detoxify and neutralize carcinogens in the body.
